The countdown to Christmas has started.

It’s so hard to believe that we are in the final days before the holidays. It is time to get those last-minute gifts squared away.

Support our local shops and restaurants this holiday season. A gift certificate to a local business makes a great holiday gift!

Best wishes for a happy and healthy Christmas!

Be sure to check the winter sports calendar on the Sullivan West website for up-to-date game information for all the sporting events this winter. Come and support our local youth.

Here are a few different events taking place:

A special evening of music and culture for the whole family will be happening at the Arts  Nest, Delaware Valley Opera Center in Lake Huntington, NY on Saturday, December 23. Old-fashioned holiday music will be performed by Christian Bowers (baritone), Aundrea Beishline (soprano) and Martin Yadzik (on piano) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The cost of admission is $20.

Artist art talks will follow the concert, featuring artists Lucy Sardonia, William Landau and Judi Aronson. The artists will discuss personal experiences while surrounded by the Artisan Art Show. Admission is free.

Doors open at 3 p.m., and the concert lasts from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The artist talk will follow the concert, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Experience the magic of the season with captivating art, soul-stirring music and the warm ambiance of Arts Nest. Discover the joy of the holidays in a way that only the arts can offer.

Mark your calendar, spread the word, and let the festivities begin!

There is a new art studio in Callicoon; the artist offers drop-in painting and drawing classes for kids, plus a make-your-own tower-building set. Plus she offers Me and Mom classes and so much more.

Adult silk scarf painting, a tree of life, a poppy texture painting, and a Valentine’s date-night birch-tree workshop have all been added. Programs are ready for registration. Check out her website for more information at www.lockwoodcreationstudio.com.

Don’t forget, Peace, Love & Lights at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is open through New Year's Day. Drive through the sparkling winter wonderland and experience the magic of holiday lights from the comfort of your car. Simply turn off your headlights and let their enchanting display guide you through the night. Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind experience for the whole family!
