HONESDALE, PA — Honesdale Rotary’s first-time-ever Pet Paw-rade last year raised monies to help Billy’s New Hope Barn, and to help build a dog park.
Billy’s New Hope Barn offers protection and compassionate care to abused, neglected or abandoned farm animals.
Marcie Bunting from Billy’s showed up at a Rotary meeting to accept the donation and thank the club.
Honesdale Rotarian Dana Scott, one of the parade organizers, said the club will have the parade again during Harvest & Heritage Days, a two-day event sponsored by the Greater Honesdale Partnership every October.
Honesdale Rotary is part of Rotary International, a service club of more than one million members worldwide. Its other local projects include fundraisers for Ukrainian refugees, painting the Fred Miller Pavilion on Main Street and funding new shelves for the Wayne County Food Pantry.
