Conservancy announces ‘Confluence’ photo contest winners

MILFORD, PA — Through summer 2023, the Delaware Highlands Conservancy held its sixth annual juried photo contest, titled “Confluence: Land, Water, Wildlife.” An exhibition of the winning photographs will be held at the ARTery Gallery beginning Friday, November 10 and an opening reception will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 11.

The contest invited local photographers to capture striking nature photos from the Upper Delaware River region in five categories: landscape, wildlife, macro, water and the Van Scott Nature Reserve. There was also a youth category for photographers under age 18.

The winners have been announced. 

Landscape category—Sarah Hine (winner); Pat Ashley and Tina Tison (runners-up)

Wildlife category—Terry Rogers (winner), Eileen Chorba and Kathleen Colligan (runners-up)

Water category—Sarah Hine (winner), Liz DiMenno and Jodi Roth-Winship (runners-up)

Macro category—Tina Tison (winner), Paulette Forgacs and David Gibides (runners-up)

Van Scott Nature Reserve category—Claire Shickora (winner), Meagan Hill (runner-up)

Youth category—Anna Brown (winner); Jaxen Counts, Olivia Counts, Payton Darcy, Owen Doyle, Lily Eltz and Ruby Richard (runners-up)

The People’s Choice winner is Kathleen Colligan, and the Conservancy Staff Pick is Victoria Sanok.

The ARTery Gallery in Milford, PA will host an exhibition of the winning photographs until Monday, December 4. The photographs will be shown alongside artwork created by ARTery member artists. 

The winning photographs are also available for viewing on the Delaware Highlands Conservancy Facebook page.

The ARTery Gallery is located in the Forest Hall building at 210 Broad St.
