With New York hospitals facing a chronic deficit of blood donations due to Covid-19, Resorts World New York hosted a blood drive in partnership with the New York Blood Center (NYBC) last weekend during American Heart Month. Resorts World Catskills held its blood drive, the first to ever take place at the property, on Friday, February 11, at the RWEpicenter, in conjunction with the 44th annual WSUL 98.3 Heart- A-Thon. Representing Resort World's Umbrella Company, Genting Americas East, President Bob DiSalvio, presented Chief Executive officer of Garnett Health Medical Center-Catskills, Jonathan Schiller with a check for $10,000 dollars bringing the grand total of donations to the event to a whopping $90,981.98. In addition The New York Blood Center collected over fifty pints of much-needed blood, which was sponsored by the Monticello Rotary Club.
