SCRANTON, PA — They might be young, but they have talent to spare.

They’re the student winners of the Gold Key and American Vision awards, part of the Scholastic Art Awards contest in Northeast PA, and they’ll be exhibiting their works at the Everhart Museum through Sunday, April 28.

And don’t forget the talented Silver Key and Honorable Mention winners.

All regional Gold Key recipients move on to the national competition to compete for a National Gold Key Award. Five of the region’s award recipients have also been nominated for the American Vision award—the highest honor possible—and will advance to nationals.

The Northeastern PA Region includes Wayne and Pike counties as well as Clinton, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Lycoming, Monroe, Montour, Northumberland, Schuylkill, Snyder, Susquehanna, Union and Wyoming. This year, over 400 artworks from 40 schools were entered into the competition.

The museum partnered with the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers.

The Everhart is located at 1901 Mulberry St. For questions, call 570/346-7186 or visit www.everhart-museum.org/
