WAYNE COUNTY, PA — The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) has announced the recipients of its 2020 tourism allocations. This year, the PMVB along with the Wayne County Commissioners are awarding more than $60,000 to local projects through the Wayne County Room Tax Disbursement Program.
The bureau reserves funds every year to support activities that help bring tourists and visitors to the area for overnight stays. The PMVB and commissioners work together to decide how to best disperse the funds.
The following projects have been awarded funds through the PVMB room tax:
Women’s Club of Honesdale; $3,217
Farm Arts Collective; $2,750
Wayne County Arts Alliance; $2,000
Dorflinger Factory Museum; $2,000
NEPA Maple Producers; $1,000
Dorflinger Sanctuary; $4,400
Downtown Hawley Partnership; $8,500
Equinunk Historical Society; $2,000
Roots & Rhythm; $5,000
Pleasant Mt. Community Center; $1,000
Creative Arts Council; $3,000
The Cooperage Project; $3,000
Wayne County Historical Society; $3,000
Award money will be announced for the Greater Honesdale Partnership and the Chamber of the Northern Poconos in the near future. The Wayne County and Greene-Dreher-Sterling fairs are also both receiving $10,000.
