HONESDALE, PA — Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced the following case was addressed by the Honorable Janine Edwards, President Judge Wayne County Court:

JOHN MATTHEW BARNES, 43, of Springville, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 15 months nor more than 48 months for one count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance – MDMA. He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, and obtain employment within 30 days of parole or provide documentation from a doctor precluding him from employment. The incident occurred on Sept. 3, 2021 in Buckingham Township.

BETH CIERKOWSKI, 43, of Scranton, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than two months nor more than 12 months for one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, one count Required Financial Responsibility and one count of Driving While Operating Privilege Suspended/Revoked. She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in of $500, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, continue with mental health treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment and obtain employment within 60 days of parole or provide documentation from a doctor precluding her from employment. The incident occurred on Nov. 3, 2021 in Lebanon Township.

MELISSA MARIE CONOVER, 53, of Pleasant Mount, PA, was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition Program for a period of six months related to a DUI. She was also ordered to pay all costs, complete 20 hours of community service, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment and have his operator’s license suspended for a period of 30 days. The incident occurred on Dec. 1, 2021 in Honesdale Borough.

ANTHONY MICHAEL DESANTIS, 59, of Honesdale, PA, previously sentenced on June 3, 2021 to 18 days to 23 months in the Wayne County Correctional Facility related to Simple Assault, was resentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for the remainder of his sentence, which is May 1, 2023. He was also ordered to undergo a drug and alcohol re-evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, attend and complete another anger management course and attend outpatient therapy for mental health. The Defendant was found in violation of his probation when he violated several conditions including using illegal controlled substances, and tested positive for illegal controlled substances.

ERIC LEWIS DUNN, 41, of Beach Lake, PA, was sentenced to 12 months probation for one count of Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana, and one count Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, undergo a mental health evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment and obtain employment within 60 days of sentencing or provide documentation from a doctor precluding him from employment. The incident occurred on Aug. 7, 2021 in Texas Township.

ALEX CAIN FRINDT, 22, of Hawley, PA, was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition Program for a period of six months related to a DUI. He was also ordered to pay all costs, complete 20 hours of community service, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment and have his operator’s license suspended for a period of 60 days. The incident occurred on April 28, 2021 in Hawley Borough.

JULIAN GERARD HYLAND, 31, of Honesdale, PA, previously resentenced on Jan.  6, to incarceration at the Wayne County Correctional Facility and re-paroled on March 10, related to Simple Assault, was resentenced to undergo incarceration at the Wayne County Correctional Facility for the remainder of his sentence which is Aug. 22. The defendant was found in violation of his probation when he was arrested on April 13 on new charges.

PHILIP MICHAEL LYNOTT, 23, of Gouldsboro, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in a State Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 16 months nor more than 60 months for one count of Persons Not to Possess, use, Firearms (M1), and one count recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution. The incident occurred on January 28, 2022 in Lehigh Township.

JOHN V. McDONALD, 47, of Madison Township, PA, previously sentenced on Aug. 26, 2021 to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility to 15 days to 60 months related to Theft, was resentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for the remainder of his sentence, which is Aug. 25, 2026. The Defendant was found in violation of Probation when failed to report to the probation department as instructed, and failed to make restitution payments.

DEBRA MARIE OWENS, 44, of Browndale, PA, previously sentenced on Feb. 17, to 77 days to 12 months in the Wayne County Correctional Facility related to Criminal Trespass, was resentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for the remainder of her sentence, which is Dec. 2. The Defendant was found in violation of her probation when he violated multiple conditions including failing to report to probation, leaving her approved residence without prior approval and being at the victim’s residence she was ordered to stay away from. 

KELLY M. POTTS, 36, of Newfoundland, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than three months nor more than 23 months for three counts Possession of Controlled Substance and one count Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, continue with mental health treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment and obtain employment within 60 days of parole or provide documentation from a doctor precluding her from employment. The incident occurred on Aug. 23, 2021 in Lake Township.

FRANCISCO RICHARD RODRIGUEZ, 29, of Starlight, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than three months nor more than 30 months for one count of Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver – Marijuana. He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay restitution in the amount of $143.57, continue with drug and alcohol treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment, continue with mental health treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment and obtain employment within 30 days of parole or provide documentation  from a doctor precluding him from employment. The incident occurred on Nov. 21, 2021 in Preston Township.

EDMUND CASTERLINE, 56, of Effort, PA, was issued a Bench Warrant for failure to appear at court.
