MONTGOMERY, NY —The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is set for Saturday, October 22 at Benedict Farm Park.
Check-in for the event opens at 9 a.m. and the opening ceremony starts at 10 a.m. The walk will follow the ceremony.
Participants can download a Walk to End Alzheimer’s app to their phones and register that way as well.
The walk, a project of the Alzheimer’s Association, is the world’s largest fundraiser to fight the disease, according to a press release. All money raised benefits the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
The association is a worldwide voluntary health organization dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Its mission is to lead the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other types of dementia—by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and by maximizing quality care and support.
The Hudson Valley chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association serves families living with dementia in seven counties in New York, including Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester.
