Robots are our besties at DVAA

NARROWSBURG, NY — On Friday, May 10, the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) and Bar Veloce will present “The Stepford Wives” (1975) at 7 p.m. at the Tusten Theatre. The film demonstrates, organizers said, that the ultimate traditional wife is too good to be true.

The feminist horror film, directed by Bryan Forbes, is a thought-provoking exploration of gender roles and the dangers of conformity, a press release from the DVAA noted. As Joanna Eberhart uncovers the sinister truth behind the town’s idyllic facade, she learns that sometimes, the perfect wife might not be human at all.

It’s part of the 2024 Salon Series’ Retro Flicks; the movie series is titled “Robots are Our Besties.”

DVAA and Bar Veloce are excited to announce the new season of Retro Cinema at the Tusten Theatre. The monthly series of Friday Night flicks runs through mid-November.

This year’s theme, “Robots are our besties” asks whether the bots really are.

Movie tickets cost $15 and include a complimentary beverage. After the show, one can head over to Bar Veloce for wine and cheese.

Box office/concession opens 30 minutes before showtime.

The theatre is located at 310 Bridge St.
