Pike County sentencing information  — November 18

MILFORD, PA — Pike County District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin announced the following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Gregory Chelak:

Hector Abelle Ruiz, age 21, of Reading, PA, was sentenced to 46 days to 23½ months in the Pike County Jail, fined $300 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.  On December 8, 2020, Milford Borough Police pulled over Ruiz for speeding along West Harford Street in Milford Borough.  When the officer approached the vehicle, Ruiz sped off.  Ruiz traveled along SR 2001 where the vehicle jumped the curb and struck a tree head on.  Ruiz exited the vehicle and fled on foot before he has apprehended.

Dillon Richard Toma, age 26, of Dingmans Ferry, PA, was sentenced to 8 months to 18 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $800 for the crimes of Criminal Trespass and Simple Assault.  Toma forcefully entered a residence located in Delaware Township on February 13, 2021, by kicking the front door in. Toma caused injury to the property owner when he pressed the blade of a knife against the individual’s neck.
