The monarch is in trouble, and that's with a capital T,

And it needs help, it needs you and me. 

Its habitat is shrinking, there is nowhere to go; 

Pretty soon they will be a "no show". 

So what can we do, both you and me?

We can tell Mexico to stop cutting the trees!

That's where monarch go for winter,

But now all they will find is a bunch of splinters!

That's right the Mexicans are cutting down the trees

That monarchs flock to during their migration. 

No more trees, no more propagation!

So let those milkweed grow

so the young caterpillars can survive,

And maybe just maybe we can help the monarch thrive!
