HONESDALE, PA — Lucyann Vierling has resigned from the Wayne Pike Workforce Alliance (WPWA) as its longtime executive director, effective January 26. A farewell event will be held at 4:30 p.m. on January 16.

“Lucyann has been an instrumental force in shaping our community by driving the organization’s vision and mission during her tenure,” said a statement by the alliance’s board of directors. “Under Lucyann’s guidance, WPWA has achieved remarkable milestones, including bringing the SHINE After-school Program to Wayne and Pike counties. The organization has flourished under her strategic direction, reaching new heights in educational and workforce development opportunities for our community members.”

Vierling said she was thankful for the opportunity to lead WPWA over the past decade. “You all have given me the wings to fly, to develop new programs, to increase our revenue, and to work towards being a reputable brand in Wayne and Pike counties,” she said. “I thrive on the challenges, I love the weave, and the residuals of good that have come from our efforts in not just creating partnerships but really functioning in that manner.”

The board of directors commended Vierling’s commitment. “Ten years ago I reached out to Lucyann to lead Workforce Wayne never suspecting that she would stay so long and grow our organization to its current state,” said board chair Joann Hudak. “I am sure you will join me in thanking her for her dedication and commitment to our community and wishing her much success and happiness in her new position.”
