Looking forward to fall

Labor Day Weekend is fast coming up, and with that, we wind down from summer.

The weather this summer was cooperative for those who wanted to spend their days outdoors and make hay. Otherwise, we could use a few days of rain.

We’re looking forward to fall weather, all things pumpkin spice and fall festivals! Be sure to send over any community events you are holding; I would love to share them.

Stop by the Bonanza farmstand, located at 225 County Rd. 116 in Cochecton for a wide variety of farm-fresh produce. It is open during daylight hours and the stand has been well stocked.

If you are looking for beef, JR’s Farm Fresh Beef has all the cuts you need. It’s located at 2238 Rte. 17B in Bethel. Call 845/583-4437 for more information.

Be sure to stop by the Fosterdale Country Cafe for ice cream—we have been stopping all summer long! It’s the perfect way to cool down on a hot day. There are over 24 flavors of soft-serve to choose from. It’s located at 6193 State Rte. 52 in Cochecton.

Calling all crafters: The Delaware Youth Center will hold its Holiday Craft Fair again this year, and the center is looking for vendors. The craft fair will take place on Friday, November 25 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the youth center. Register online if you would like to be a vendor, at www.delawareyouthcenter.org.

This year’s DVCS All-Class Reunion will be held on Saturday, October 8 at the Villa Roma Resort in Marty’s Lounge. All former students, teachers and staff are invited to attend. The party begins at 5 p.m. with a cash bar and appetizers, followed by a hot buffet dinner at 7 p.m. A DJ and dancing after dinner will complete the evening. The price per person, inclusive of tax and tip, is $65. Reservations can be made by calling the Villa Roma at 800/727-8455, ext. 1, or by sending a check to Villa Roma Resort, Attn: Group Sales/DVCS, 356 Villa Roma Rd., Callicoon, NY 12723.

For more information and a detailed menu, look at the DVCS Facebook page. You can also comment and get your fellow classmates to sign up.

If you have a local business that you would like to have spotlighted in an upcoming column, get in touch. Email jenn@jennpowelldesigns.com with any news, events and happenings.
