Is your tree up, is your shopping done, are you wrapped and ready to go? The best part of this time of year is seeing old friends and family. On Saturday, my brother Teddy and I went to Queens to see our oldest sister. Together we visited the graves of Tommy and our parents. On Sunday, we met up with our oldest brother and two cousins that were raised with us. We had lunch and lots of laughs. We did miss our youngest brother, the drag queen, who preforming at the Pocono Place for the weekend.
The Ecumenical Food Pantry would like to thank all who have supported its Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and toy drive throughout the year. The Cochecton Youth Commission (CYC) is opening sign ups on January 7 from 6 to 7 p.m. for a painting night to be held on January 22, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. The night includes dinner and a chance to paint Wilbur from “Charlotte’s Web” on glass. Out-of-town children and adults are welcome to come for $45. February 22, 2020 is an evening game of West Point Hockey; tickets cost $25 for out-of-town kids and adults. I was so upset when I was told that there was vandalism at the Sally Katzoff Park. Rosemary from the Cochecton ambulance works so hard to make that park look good. Two lawn frogs were stolen, the two lamps were damaged and the fence was broken. This is really sad. If you have any information on this, give Rosemary a call at 845/932-7889.

Henning’s Local is not leaving Cochecton Center. The winter hours are 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Monday and Thursday. Henning’s Local is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. They are also open New Year’s Eve. Henning’s Local will be opening a test kitchen in Greene County. You can find out more information on Facebook at Round Top Production.
