Shane Murphy, Jr., 32, of The Hideout in Lake Ariel, PA, was arrested on May 6 for aggravated assault of a police officer, a felony; and simple assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct, misdemeanors.

According to the Wayne County District Attorney, A.G. Howell, Murphy became agitated, irate, and belligerent before a summary trial for careless and reckless driving outside the office of the District Magistrate at the Wayne County Courthouse in Honesdale.

Upon being arrested for disorderly conduct and removed from the courthouse, Murphy continued to be resistant, belligerent, and disorderly, causing the arm of the trooper to go through the glass on the entrance door to the courthouse. The trooper suffered cuts from the glass that required stitches and glue to close the wound.

Murphy is set to appear at Central Court on May 15. District Magistrate
Jonathan Dunsinger set bail at $100,000.

Murphy is being held in the Wayne County Correctional Facility.
