MONTICELLO, NY — Monticello Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred at the “’Sunoco Gas Station” located at 360 East Broadway in the Village of Monticello. At approximately 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, an unknown male who was wearing a black ski mask and all black clothing entered the business. The male then announced a robbery and displayed what appeared to be a handgun to the lone female employee working. The employee fled to the back of the store and the male suspect then fled out the front door in unknown direction and without obtaining any proceeds.
