Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced the following case was addressed by the Honorable Janine Edwards, President Judge Wayne County Court:

WILLIAM MOTZ, age 32, of Honesdale, PA, was sentenced to 40 months to 96 months incarcerated in State Correctional Institution on one count of Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver-Heroin (F) and one count of Involuntary Manslaughter (M1).  Mr. Motz acknowledged his role in causing the overdose of Edward Keane, 30, Hawley, Wayne County PA.  

Mr. Keane died on September 29, 2020.   The Defendant sold drugs to the Mr. Keane during the days leading up to September 29, 2020.   A search of Facebook Messenger also discovered that the two had corresponded via messenger and telephone calls and agreed to meet on Main Street, Hawley Borough on the night of September 29, 2020.  

In other criminal matters:

LESLIE SMITH, age 41, of Scranton, PA, was sentenced to 21 days to 12 months incarcerated in Wayne Count Correctional Facility on one count of Possession of Controlled Substance (M), one count of Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence (M2) and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M).

JOSEPH LANGONE, age 31, of Honesdale, PA, was sentenced to 4 months to 18 months incarcerated in Wayne County Correctional Facility on one count of Person Not to Possess, Use, Etc. 

JEREMY SMITH, age 45, of Fayetteville, PA, was sentenced to 12 months to 24 months incarcerated in State Correctional Institution on one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2)

KATIE BOZELLA, age 30, of Hawley, PA, of Lake Ariel, PA, was found to be in violation of her parole and was remanded to Wayne County Correctional Facility for 2 to 12 months.
