HONESDALE, PA — “My body. My choice.” That was the message from the 50+ people gathered on Honesdale’s Main Street on Saturday, May 14. Ranging in age from babies to octogenarians, the topic was the Supreme Court’s draft ruling, which if unchanged, will overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1972 landmark decision that abortion was a private choice made between a woman and her doctor. Saturday was a nation-wide day of pro-choice protest, with thousands of demonstrations planned. Passersby in cars and walking gave the thumbs up and honked horns, with a few objecting to the crowd’s point of view.
