Flags for veterans—a family tradition

FOSTERDALE, NY — Keith Krauss, right, quartermaster from H. Russell Kenyon VFW Post 5808, is seen here placing new flags on veterans’ gravestones. Along to help with this honorable service are grandsons Kristopher and Alexander Snedeker, and U.S. Navy veteran Tom Mall and his wife Georgina, not pictured.

This picture was taken at the Tylertown Cemetery in Cochecton. Many local veterans have been busy replacing old flags with new ones in time for Memorial Day.

Every Memorial Day, we remember, thank and honor the sacrifices of hundreds of men and women who gave their lives for our country and our freedom.
