LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY – Like a lot of things in life, experience can trump youthful exuberance.
And the girls’ varsity basketball matchup between the home team Lady Bulldogs of Sullivan West versus the Liberty Lady Indians on Wednesday, December 8 was no exception, as the veteran squad trounced the younger, less experienced team 49-19.
Sullivan West (2-0) outpaced Liberty (0-2) in the first three frames (12-3, 17-1, 13-6) but in the final period let up on the gas as Liberty outscored the Lady Bulldogs 8-7.
Sullivan West is coached by Pat Donovan, while the Lady Indians hoopsters are helmed by Peter Dworetsky.
Leading scorers (SW)—Taylor Wall 15 points, Riley Ernst 10, Kaylee DiBiase 6, Brielle Arnott 4, Taylor Brustman 4.
Leading scores (LIB)—Alyssa Kavleski 9, Grace Wormuth 6, Alli Dworetsky 4.
