ELSA MARTHA WEBER

Elsa Martha Weber, 87, a lifelong resident of Barryville, NY, died on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023 at the Care Center at Sunset Lake, Liberty, NY, with her family by her side. She was born July 29, 1936 to the late Alan and Elsa (Draxler) Barnes in Barryville.


Elsa was married to the late George H. Weber Sr. and they celebrated 65 years of marriage.


Elsa was retired from Kittatinny Campgrounds in Barryville.


A family statement reads, “Mom was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished them dearly. She was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorswoman. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flower beds. She spent many years traveling south during the winter months with her husband in their RV. She will be truly missed by all.”
Elsa is survived by her two daughters: Cindy Wingert and her husband Alan (Barryville, NY), and Julie Mott and her husband William (Welcome Lake, PA); one son George H. Weber Jr. and his wife Laura (Shohola, PA); three grandsons: Alan Jr., Jason and Anthony Wingert; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister Anita Godby of Matamoras, PA; three brothers: Alan Barnes, Larry Barnes and Arthur Barnes, all of Barryville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.


Elsa was predeceased by her husband, George; sisters Laurie Trotti and infant sisters Elaine and Linda; and great-grandson Logan Wingert.
There will be a private graveside service at Beaver Brook Cemetery, Narrowsburg, NY at the convenience of the family.
