MILFORD, PA -- Pike County District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin on Nov. 20 announced that the following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Gregory Chelak:

Aaliyah Ines Bauza Gordon, 22, of Greeley, PA, was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, a fine of $1,300.00 and a driver’s license suspension of 12 months for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance and Possession of Small Amount of Marijuana. Gordon was observed driving slowly and weaving across her lane of travel of SR 6 in Lackawaxen Township on March 13, 2023. When speaking with Gordon, an odor of marijuana could be detected, and Gordon was observed to have bloodshot, glassy eyes with constricted pupils. Field sobriety tests showed impairment, and a blood test confirmed the presence of THC in  Gordon’s blood. Gordon was found in possession of marijuana.

Amber Lyn Hunter, 33, of Hudson, FL, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and a fine of $600 for the crimes of Resisting Arrest and Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana. The state police stopped Hunter after observing her failure to use a turn signal along SR 739 in Blooming Grove Township on December 17, 2022. When the trooper approached Hunter’s vehicle, he detected the smell of marijuana. Hunter admitted to smoking prior to the stop. Hunter refused the trooper’s request for her to step out of her vehicle and had to be physically removed. Hunter also refused to participate in the field sobriety tests and a chemical test. Hunter was found in possession of marijuana.

Marjorie Inez Valentine, 64, of Port Jervis, NY, was sentenced to 1 year of probation and a fine of $300.00 for the crime of Theft. Valentine took in excess of $200 in personal property, including a phone, keys and a jacket from employees at a retail business in Westfall Township between October 24, 2022, and December 19, 2022.

Ryan Richard Fitzpatrick, 42, of Dingmans Ferry, PA, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and a $500 fine for the crime of Terroristic Threats. The state police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Delaware Township, where during an argument Fitzpatrick threatened to shoot an individual and burn their house down.

Andrea Arra, 60, of Dingmans Ferry, PA, was sentenced to 6 months of probation and a $300 fine for the crime of Disorderly Conduct. The state police were at a residence in Porter Township to serve a warrant on an individual. Arra began screaming and yelling profanities and refused the trooper’s command to stop on April 7, 2023, kicking a gate which struck a trooper.

Sean M. Altenbach, 46, of Catasauqua, PA, was sentenced to 5 days to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, a fine of $1,300, and driver’s license suspension of 12 months for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence and Disorderly Conduct. Altenbach was stopped by the state police for speeding along SR 507 in Greene Township on October 15, 2021. When Altenbach rolled his window down, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. When Altenbach was asked for his license and registration, he attempted to flee with his vehicle. Altenbach admitted to drinking prior to the traffic stop, and exhibited slow, sluggish and slurred speech with bloodshot and glossy eyes. A preliminary breath test and Field Sobriety Test indicated the presence of alcohol and impairment. Altenbach refused to participate in a chemical breath test.

Brett Michael Cooley, 34, of Wilkes-Barre, PA, was sentenced to 2 months to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $300 for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Eastern Pike Regional Police responded to a business parking lot in Matamoras where Cooley was observed doing drugs. When contact was made with Cooley, he was exhibiting dilated pupils, pale skin and having poor balance. Cooley was found in possession of cocaine and paraphernalia.

Edward Wilbur Seyfert,  29, of Lake Ariel, PA, was sentenced to 48 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $500 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. The state police responded to I- 84 in Dingman Township where Seyfert rolled his vehicle over on October 15, 2022. When contact was made with Seyfert an odor of marijuana was detected in the vehicle. Field sobriety tests indicated impairment, and a blood test indicated a blood-alcohol content of 0.144 percent.

Christopher J. Garavaglia, 33, of Lake Ariel, PA, was sentenced to 6 years to 12 years in a state correctional facility and fined $2,400 for 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, 2 counts of Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, 2 counts of Simple Assault and one count of Disorderly Conduct. The state police were dispatched to a bar in Shohola Township where Garavaglia was intoxicated and had struck the bartender on January 28, 2023. When the troopers arrived on scene, Garavaglia resisted arrest and while being transported in the trooper car, kicked both troopers in the head causing injury. Garavaglia also spit on the troopers.
