MONTICELLO, NY — Brian P. Conaty, Acting District Attorney of Sullivan County, announced the arrest of Lito Solis on January 4, following the execution of an early hours “no-knock” search warrant at the Inn at Monticello, located in the Village of Monticello.
Solis was found in possession of more than eight ounces of crack cocaine and six grams of fentanyl with the intent to sell the same. Solis’ arrest stemmed from an investigation headed by the New York State Police’s Violent Gang Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET) with the assistance of the DA’s Office.
As a result, Solis was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, a Class A-I Felony, among other charges. Following his arraignment, Solis was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail by Village of Liberty Justice Troy Johnstone.
Conaty said: “The quantity of narcotics seized here endangers the Sullivan County community at large. This office remains committed to prosecuting those who profit off the backs of Sullivan County residents suffering from the dangers of drug addiction.”
Conaty thanked the New York State Police VGNET for their continued and tireless work to keep the streets of Sullivan County safe.
The filing of a criminal complaint is merely an allegation. Mr. Solis remains innocent until proven guilty.
