SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is looking for advisors. You don’t even have to be a senior.
Whether you’re a young person, a stay-at-home spouse or the leader of a business, the RSVP Advisory Committee lets you help shape the success of the program in Sullivan County, according to a news release.
“The RSVP Advisory Committee is a group of individuals—ages 18 and up—representing the interests of our RSVP volunteers, volunteer stations and the community,” said RSVP coordinator Martha Tully.
Advisory committee members advise, assist and advocate. They generate ideas, Tully said. They recruit volunteers, help with events and fundraising, collaborate with other organizations, serve as ambassadors to the county at large, and much more.
Members must be at least 18 years of age.
Complete the application at https://bit.ly/3rCwdS0, or request one at the local RSVP office. To learn more about what an advisory committee member does, to find an office, or to apply for membership, call 845/807-0255 or email Martha.Tully@sullivanny.us.

Miller is both a registered nurse and an attorney, and is also a former hospital and nursing home administrator. He has served seven years on the Brookmeade board.
The Trustee of the Year award is “bestowed on those who have served selflessly and with distinction on the board of trustees of a LeadingAge NY member organization,” according to the release.
LeadingAge NY is an association of 6,500 nonprofit senior-living organizations. The group advances policies, promotes practices and conducts research in improving the lives of seniors.
