ELDRED, NY — What do environmental DNA, mushroom foraging, the Upper Delaware River and Naked Yogi Warriors have in common? They will each be the topic of one of the upcoming talks at Sunshine Hall Free Library every Saturday at 4 p.m. beginning Saturday, September 23.
On September 23, biological anthropologist Todd Disotell discusses advances in DNA sequencing that have been used to identify numerous samples purportedly from Bigfoot, Yeti and other cryptozoological organisms. According to a library flyer, researchers obtain samples (from the soil, from biting insects) that can be thousands of years old—and use them to identify species and subspecies. Or to figure out whether that biological bit came from Bigfoot.
The talks continue through Saturday, October 21.
All library programs are free. No registration is necessary.
