I advised caution when NASA inquired about time-travel skills displayed at the May 2 Sullivan County committee meetings. 

“Perrello’s behavior is exploratory,” I said. “Taking us back to divisive days of the prior administration isn’t easy.”

“How’s he doing?”

“Quite well,” I replied. “He knows more than anyone about, well, most things—chief among them, progress (or not) at the county’s adult care center.” 

“Even more than those working or with loved ones there?”

“Apparently so,” I told them. “As time-travel captain, Perrello’s been on a voyage of ideology, so it’s crucial he keep up appearances. The one-star (out of five) Medicare facility rating with the county’s de facto operator, Infinite Care, is merely a speed bump, and it helps that he’s piloting a rudderless ship.”

“How so?”

“Such a vessel improves chances for mission success,” I said. “Credit for that, however, rests in the unwilling or unable hands of chairwoman Nadia Rajsz to provide leadership.” 

“Easy for you to say.” 

“Actually, no,” I told them. “We have data—witness how she misled voters with her on-again (campaign), off-again (elected) position on the care center. Resolving mysteries of space-time will likely emerge before her true intentions ever do.” 

“But is Perrello up to the task?” NASA wondered. I assured them few have more experience being abused by the prior administration. “So what happened to ‘that’ Perrello?” they continued, probing. “The one who welcomed support from the same public back then he now views with disgust?” 

I had no answer.
