HONESDALE, PA — Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced today the arrest of Michael Yzkanin, age 30, of Gouldsboro, Wayne County, PA. Yzkanin was charged with two counts of Institutional Vandalism, each graded as a misdemeanor 2nd degree, two counts of Tampering with Fire Equipment, each graded as a misdemeanor 3rd degree, two counts of Criminal Mischief, each graded as a summary and two counts of Disorderly Conduct, each graded as a summary.
Yzkanin is currently an inmate at the Wayne County Correctional Facility on unrelated charges stemming from an incident in Gouldsboro, Wayne County, PA. According to the Criminal Complaint Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Wayne County Detective Michael McMorrow, Yzkanin intentionally flooded his prison cell on two separate occasions by smashing a sprinkler head in his cell. Yzkanin’s actions not only caused water damage but also caused the Wayne County Correctional Facility to go into lockdown.
Two criminal complaints were filed with Magisterial District Judge Bates. His next court
appearance is pending.
