PORT JERVIS, NY — St. Josephs Place, located on the campus of WMCHealth’s Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY, recently received a five-star nursing home rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It was recognized for excellence in specialized care.
The overall star rating for nursing homes comes from a combination of health inspections, staffing and quality of resident care measures. CMS calculates a star rating for each of these categories, along with an overall facility rating.
A five-star rating indicates a facility’s exemplary care and physical environment.
This is the second consecutive five-star rating from CMS for St. Josephs Place.

Bon Secours is part of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth). The network is a 1,700-bed health care system headquartered in Valhalla, with nine hospitals on seven campuses.
WMCHealth employs more than 13,000 people and has nearly 3,000 attending physicians.
The Network has Level I (adult and pediatric), Level II and Level III trauma centers, the region’s only acute care children’s hospital, an academic medical center, several community hospitals, comprehensive and primary stroke centers, skilled nursing, home-care services, one of the largest mental health systems in New York State and more, a company spokesperson said.
