The Wayne County District Attorneys, Detective Division, announced the arrest of Julia L Drongoski, 50 from Honesdale on charges of Possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and other drug-related offenses.
An investigation began in March of 2024 and resulted in Drongoski being arrested after a controlled buy in July 2024. Drongoski was placed into the Wayne County Correctional Facility, where she was released on bail. Detectives continued to investigate and received information in September 2024 that Drongoski was suspected in distributing controlled substances in the Honesdale area. On November 27th, Detectives arrested Drongoski on a warrant and she was placed in the Wayne County Correctional Facility. After Drongoski was lodged, she was found with additional controlled substances hidden on and in her body.
Additional charges are pending and further investigations into those who also conspired with her are continuing.
The filing of criminal charges is not evidence of guilt but simply a description of the charge made by the Commonwealth against a defendant. A charged Defendant is presumed innocent until a jury returns a unanimous finding that the Commonwealth has proven the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt or until the defendant enters a guilty plea to the charges.
