On Monday, September 30, 2024, at 10:10 P.M., the Village of Monticello Police responded to a 911 report of shots fired in the area of Broadway and Jefferson Streets.

Responding officers located a 22-year-old Monticello man on Liberty Street, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his left foot. The victim was subsequently transported to Garnet Orange Medical Center by Empress EMS for medical treatment.

The NYSP, Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, and Monticello Fire Department also assisted Monticello Police at the scene.
