Young riders shine at the Little World’s Fair

GRAHAMSVILLE, NY — The 145th Grahamsville Fair, known far and wide as the Little World’s Fair, was founded in 1878, and has the unique distinction of being the longest running independent fair in New York State.

It is hosted by the Neversink Agricultural Society, Inc. and as befits a small rural farming community, horses of all shades are a mainstay of the popular event.

On Friday morning August 15, the Neversink Agricultural Society’s Open Horse Show, under the direction of Megan Diehl-Blumenthal—owner of Diehl Me In Performance Horses of Callicoon, NY—took the reins at the event.

It featured several disciplines in the equestrian world: Western and English classes, with participants showing in showmanship, pleasure, equitation and command classes throughout the day.

“It was a perfect day for a horse show,” said Diehl-Blumenthal. “All the horses and riders had a fun and safe day, as many local riders from around the county participated. It took a village to make it happen.”
