Rolling Stone is reporting that Michael Lang has confirmed that he is promoting a three-day festival to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original 1969 Woodstack Festival to be held the same days as the celebration at Bethel Woods, August 16, 17, and 18. Rolling Stone says specfic acts won't be announced until later this week, but they report that Lang has already booked more than 40 performers that will be playing on three stages. Rolling Stone quotes Lang as saying, “It’ll be an eclectic bill. It’ll be hip-hop and rock and some pop and some of the legacy bands from the original festival.”
The festival will be held in Watkins Glenn, NY, more that 150 miles from the site of the original concert in Bethel, NY. Bethel Woods Center for the Arts has announced some of it's own anniversery plans, with more details to be released later.
