MILFORD, PA — Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced the arrest of three individuals after the Pike DA Unlawful Narcotics Investigation Team (U.N.I.T.) served a search warrant at a residence located at 95 Tenth Street in Matamoras on October 16.
Investigators located a quantity of cocaine, a quantity of pills, and $1,865.00 in U.S. currency. The individuals charged are John Cavalone, age 39, of Matamoras, Luke Cavalone, age 42, of Matamoras, and Tammy Holmes, age 49, of Matamoras.
John Cavalone was charged with Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, both felonies. Luke Cavalone is charged with Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, Criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and Endangering the welfare of children. Tammy Holmes is charged with Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and Criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.
According to the criminal complaint and affidavit, investigators conducted a month-long investigation into drug sales. Investigators from the Pike County District Attorney’s Office worked with investigators from the Orange County New York District Attorney’s Office and the Port Jervis Police Department.
Shortly after New York investigators arrested an individual for the sale of cocaine in Port Jervis, the Pike DA U.N.I.T served a search warrant at the target house. Inside the house, investigators located a quantity of cocaine, cash, a scale, baggies, and a number of pills. The pills will be sent to a lab for testing. Investigators discovered two children lived in the residence, the children were turned over to Pike County Children and Youth Services.
Tonkin commented, “As our partnership with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and Port Jervis Police Department grows stronger in the fight against drug traffickers in the Tri-State Area, it means bad news and prison time for the traffickers and good news for the community that the traffickers are off the street are not peddling their poison and ruining the neighborhoods of our community.”
All three were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Paul Menditto and incarcerated in the Pike County Correctional Facility in lieu of posting bail. All three will be scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Pike County Central Court.
