WURTSBORO, NY — In celebration of Woodstock’s 50th anniversary, more than 20 guitar cutouts embellished by the artists of the Wurtsboro Art Alliance will all be on exhibit and offered for sale at the John Nelson Gallery located at 73 Sullivan St. The free opening reception will take place on Saturday, August 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. The exhibit will continue until Friday, August 30. Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday, 12 noon to 4 p.m. For more information, visit www.waagallery.org.
LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — The opening reception for the Nutshell Arts Center’s “Nutshell Woodstock 50 Art Show” will take place on Saturday, August 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. A potluck will follow the reception. Admission is free and open to the public.
The exhibit, displaying paintings, photography, sculpture and mixed media by 30 different artists, will be on view until August 31. The art center hours are Fridays from 2 to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays from 12 noon to 6 p.m.
