NARROWSBURG, NY — The new Hudson Valley Credit Union (HVCU) location in Narrowsburg, which opened on Monday, May 4, stands just up the road from its former digs. The credit union has moved out of its offices in Pete’s Market to a bespoke branch location at the intersection of Kirk’s Road and Route 97, formerly the law office of the late Jeffrey Clemente.
However, the move means more to the organization than some extra square footage and a few hundred feet of distance.
“This is our demonstration to the Narrowsburg community that we’re serious,” said Rob Brown, group senior vice president and head of retail network with HVCU.
HVCU acquired Catskill Hudson Bank early in 2025. Branch manager Lisa Tambini originally joined Catskill Hudson Bank’s Narrowsburg location in June 2024, and stayed on with HVCU following the acquisition.
“I love the Narrowsburg community,” said Tambini, who lives nearby.
As a credit union, HVCU is a nonprofit institution, and is structurally dedicated to reinvesting profits in its members and in the community it serves. The organization has created the HVCU Charitable Foundation, which awarded a total of $471,500 to 60 nonprofits throughout its coverage area in 2025.
That spirit shines through in other areas as well. Tambini said the branch recently hosted a storytime with the Narrowsburg branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library. It sponsored a book on money for toddlers; “They were very into it,” said Tambini.
Additionally, HVCU has supported a financial literacy program run by a pair of students from Sullivan West, said branch supervisor Rachael Margolies. (One of the students is her nephew.) Through the HVCU partnership, students who participated in the program got a credit to go toward starting their own savings account.
Editor's note: This article initially misstated the connection between HVCU and Catskill Hudson Bank. This has been corrected as of 6:30 pm on May 6.
