LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — Attention young performers: If you’re between the ages of eight and 18 and are interested in acting and stagecraft, River Rep Jr. is for you. The River Rep Jr. Fall 2026 Drama Workshop starts on Saturday, September 26 and runs from noon to 2 p.m. at the Delaware Valley Opera Center.

The 10-week course “is a fun and exciting way for kids to explore their imagination and develop essential life skills that extend far beyond the stage,” River Rep staff said.

It’s a chance to work with theatre professionals, learning the fundamentals of theatre arts, and learn how to connect with your emotions to create characters, boost self-confidence and build communication skills.

Participants will learn how to collaborate with a group to bring stories to life. Experienced instructors create a nurturing and supportive environment.

The workshop is led by River Rep artistic directors Arthur Aulisi and Christopher Peditto, as well as guest artist instructors, and explores a wide range of theater techniques, the program notes.

The workshop concludes with a performance for friends and family of scenes and devised pieces worked on over the course, presented on the final day of class (December 5).

The opera center is located at 6692 Rte. 52.

Tuition is pay-what-you-can, although a donation of $125 is suggested.
