ONLINE — For those just starting out with livestock, Penn State Extension is offering a webinar, “Living on a Few Acres: Hay and Pasture Management,” taking place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 13.
The session is designed for beginning producers or homesteaders and for those looking to learn the basics of managing pastures and selecting hay to support livestock health and productivity.
Penn State Extension Educators Justin Brackenrich and Laura Kenny will guide participants through the fundamentals of managing pastures and purchasing hay. Attendees can learn how to improve soil fertility, select appropriate forage species and manage paddocks for healthy, high-yield pastures.
In addition, attendees can gain practical knowledge on choosing, handling and storing hay to ensure animals are well fed throughout the winter months.
Participants must register by 6 p.m. on November 13 to receive the link to access the live webinar. A $5 registration fee accompanies the event. Registrants will also receive access to the webinar recording.
