Apply for Edible Garden Project

LIBERTY, NY — Applications for the 2025 Catskill Edible Garden Project (CEGP) are now available at Sullivan180.org. Schools, daycare facilities and organizations serving youth in Sullivan County are eligible to apply for funding to create edible gardens or landscapes. The deadline to submit applications is Wednesday, January 15.

The Catskill Edible Garden Project aims to design edible gardens as living, outdoor educational and gathering spaces. The program provides up to $2,500 in grant funding, as well as technical assistance, educational programs, design expertise and staff support to guide the planning and construction of these gardens.

“The Catskill Edible Garden Project is about more than just planting seeds—it’s about growing connections,” said Eva Bednar, garden coordinator at Sullivan 180. “These gardens teach young people the value of sustainable living, offer hands-on learning opportunities, and help build healthier, more engaged communities.”

The Catskill Edible Garden Project is a partnership between Catskill Mountainkeeper, Cornell Cooperative Extension and Sullivan 180. Together, the organizations work to empower local youth and foster environmental stewardship through gardening initiatives. For additional information or questions about the application process, contact Eva Bednar at 845/295-2719 or Eva@Sullivan180.org.
