Augusta Mary Stegner of Honesdale, PA died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at AseraCare Hospice at Mid Valley Hospital in Peckville, PA. She was 84.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde A. Stegner Sr. on January 10, 2011. The couple married May 3, 1947.

Born June 10, 1927 in Tusten, NY, she was the daughter and last surviving member of the William and Laura Gilson Hopkins family. A housewife and mother, Augusta worked as a piece maker for the former Sherman Mills in Hawley for 30 years. Being a homebody, she enjoyed baking and flower gardening. She loved being with her grandchildren and enjoyed her pets over the years.

Surviving is her son, Clyde A. Stegner Jr. and wife Tammy of Beach Lake; daughter Bonnie Walsh and fiancée Tom Frisk of Honesdale; grandchildren Sarah and Joey Walsh, Clyde A. Stegner III and Augusta Mae Stegner; and nieces and nephews.

She is also preceded in death by brothers Delzine Gilson and James and Elwin Hopkins.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 18 at 11 a.m. at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale with Rev. Bill Frisk officiating. Friends may visit on Wednesday, August 17 from 4 to 7 p.m.
