Eric Schilling, of Cochecton, NY, died at home on the morning of April 6, 2024. Eric was born Aug. 27, 1954 in Paterson, NJ. He grew up in Oakland, NJ and moved to Narrowsburg, NY in 1973 and later to Cochecton.

After graduation from Indian Hills High School, he attended Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. An avid reader, his interests were wide-ranging, and he was best known for his mechanical abilities.

Eric had a great interest in the outdoors, especially spelunking, and made dozens of trips to explore caves in upstate New York, West Virginia, and the Carolinas. With his brother Daniel, he enjoyed many excursions to Antiquarian bookstores in New York State.

Eric was kind to all animals, especially his mother's cats. His ability to repair almost anything will be sorely missed, as will his willingness to help others.

Eric was predeceased by his father, Arthur L. Schilling, Jr. and a sister, Lizette Schilling.

He is survived by his mother, Irma Schilling, of Cochecton; brothers Daniel Schilling of Moscow, PA; Thomas Schilling and wife Lisa of Scott Township, PA; Stephen Schilling and wife Jade of Binghamton, NY; sister Jacqueline Parker and husband Earl of Middletown Springs, VT; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
