Valois Young Jr., a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant, and retired NOAA Meteorologist and 11-year area resident, died Saturday, May 26, 2012 in Damascus, PA. He was 76.
Son of the late Valois Young Sr. and Gladys Bradstreet Young, he was born July 11, 1935 in Vinalhaven, ME.
Valois was an avid Boston Red Sox fan since 1941.
Survivors include his companion, Kitty Womer of Damascus, PA, his children, Lawrence Young of Long Beach, CA, Jessica Monokrousses and husband Dennis of South Bend, IN and Barbara Wise of Thomaston, ME; and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Juliette and Bridgette Wise. He is also survived by a brother, Dennis Hopkins of Connecticut; and a sister, Evelyn Renna of Portland, ME.
There will be no visitation. Burial with military honors will be made in Vinalhaven at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
