Elvin F. Goda of Washingtonville, NY passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. He was 87.

Son of the late Jack and Mary Melchisky Goda, he was born in Ansonia, CT on June 13, 1924. He was the widower of Rose Marie Tomer Goda.

Elvin was a retired shipping and receiving clerk for Avon Products, Inc. in Suffern, NY. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War.

Elvin is survived by his sons Mark Goda and wife Christine of Milanville, PA, John Goda and wife Debbie of Afton, NY; daughters Renee Mege and husband Dan of Port Jervis, NY, Laura Marshall and husband Rod Raymond of Wurtsboro, NY; sister Rita Cronk of Suffern,; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He is also predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Carbaugh and her husband Robert.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 7 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, Monroe, NY. Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
