WOODRIDGE — The Town of Fallsburg Police Department arrested Elijah Richards, a 23-year-old Woodridge man, and charged him with disseminating indecent material to a minor in the first degree, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
It is alleged that Mr. Richards sent inappropriate pictures and text messages to a sixteen-year-old female.
Mr. Richards was arraigned in front of Honorable Robert Scheinman and was released on his own recognizance in following the New York State bail reform law. He is scheduled to appear in The Town of Fallsburg Justice Court at a later date.
Criminal charges are merely allegations that a defendant has committed violations of the criminal law, and as such they are not evidence of guilt. All defendants have a presumption of innocence and are entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the burden of the State of New York to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
