GRANTVILLE, PA — Women in the dairy industry can gain valuable knowledge and network with peers by attending Penn State Extension’s “Women in Dairy Conference,” which will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg (Hershey Area), 604 Station Road, Grantville. Participants must register by November 15.

This event is designed for dairy producers, industry professionals and on-farm employees. Hosted by the Penn State Extension dairy team and planned by a committee of dairy producers and industry leaders, the conference will provide learning and networking opportunities for all women in the dairy industry, organizers noted.

With a 20-year history, the event hosts more than 100 women leaders in the dairy industry from Pennsylvania and surrounding states.

This year’s conference will feature producer speakers for the keynote and endnote sessions, providing insights into both the past and future of the dairy industry. Breakout sessions will focus on topics such as socially raised calves, data security, employee management, and financial resources and opportunities for dairy.

Sponsors for this event include the Center for Dairy Excellence, Horizon Farm Credit, Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association, American Dairy Association North East, Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers, Painterland Sisters, Dairy Farmers of America and Land O’Lakes Inc.

The registration fee is $84, with a special offer available for groups. When registering two individuals, the third person’s registration is free. All three registrants must register together and at the same time to receive the offer.

More information about the conference is available on the Penn State Extension website at https://extension.psu.edu/womenindairy2024.
