HONESDALE, PA — In January, Wayne Memorial Hospital (WMH) celebrated its two interns, Father Dominic Sabi and Vikrant Yadav from the University of Scranton, who have completed their residencies in hospital administration at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Under the guidance of CEO Jim Pettinato, these dedicated students made a significant impact during their time here. A WMH press release noted that their hard work and innovative ideas had not only enriched their own learning experiences, but had also contributed positively to the hospital’s operations.
Throughout their time at Wayne Memorial, Vikrant and Father Dominic tackled improving hospital operations and patient experiences. Their final project focused on streamlining workforce management. As a key outcome, they developed a tool that significantly reduces the time required for managers to identify vacant positions and monitor the utilization of personnel. This user-friendly solution enhances efficiency by providing managers with a clear and accessible way to track and manage staffing data effectively.
“These young professionals have brought fresh perspectives and invaluable energy to our team,” said Pettinato. “Their contributions will leave a lasting legacy at Wayne Memorial, and we are excited to see how they will continue to grow in their careers.”
