WMH cardiac programs re-accredited

HONESDALE, PA — Wayne Memorial Hospital (WMH) earned re-accreditation from Corazon for both its Chest Pain Center and Cath/PCI program.

Corazon provides cardiovascular specialty services and is based in Pittsburgh. Both programs at WMH met or exceeded Corazon’s accreditation standards, which follow requirements established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH).

The re-accreditation “reflects the work of physicians, nurses, technicians and staff throughout the hospital who work together to provide timely, coordinated care,” the hospital said.

“Having these services available locally is incredibly important to our community,” said Jim Pettinato, Wayne Memorial CEO. “These re-accreditations demonstrate the level of care our team provides every day and our continued investment in bringing high-quality cardiac services to our community. We are extremely proud of everyone whose hard work made this possible.”

Wayne Memorial’s Cath/PCI program provides interventional cardiac services for patients who may need procedures such as cardiac catheterization and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

“This is truly a team accomplishment,” said Frank Reid, lead cardiovascular care coordinator, “Our staff works incredibly hard to make sure our patients receive excellent care from the moment they come through our doors.”
