Willi Anton Hoersting, 91, a longtime resident of Eldred and formerly of Ridgewood, NY, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025. Willi was the former co-owner of the Windjammer Bar in Ridgewood, NY.
Willi immigrated to the United States in the late 1950s and enlisted in the U.S. Army, at which time he became an American Citizen. He was a proud member of the VFW Post 6427.
Willi was an unforgettable character and a loyal husband to Renate, with whom he shared an almost 45-year love story. He and Renate had a wonderful life together and are now together again.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Renate M. Ziegeler Hoersting.
Willi is survived by his children: Klaus Ziegeler and his wife Anne of Matamoras, PA; Peter Ziegeler and his wife Theresa of W. Olive, MI; Susan Cozzolino and her husband Philip of Long Island, NY; and grandchildren Nicholas Ziegeler, Hanna Brunette and Matthew Ziegeler.
A private service was held for the family at Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, Barryville, NY.
