Pennsylvania State House of Representatives
Voters in Wayne and Pike are represented by one of three districts in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
The incumbent for House District 111, Representative Jonathan Fritz, is running for re-election uncontested.
House District 111 covers northern Wayne County, comprising the boroughs of Bethany, Honesdale, Prompton, Starrucca and Waymart, and the townships of Scott, Preston, Buckingham, Manchester, Mount Pleasant, Lebanon, Damascus, Clinton, Dyberry, Oregon, Canaan, Texas and Berlin; as well as all of Susquehanna County.
Republican Representative Jeff Olsommer, the incumbent for House District 139, is running against Democrat Robin Skibber for that seat.
Olsommer won the seat in a special election held this past April, defeating Skibber in that contest and defeating primary challengers to run in the general election. The seat became vacant in February, with the resignation of Republican and former Wayne County Commissioner Joe Adams. Visit bit.ly/TRR-Olsommer-Skibber for more information on these candidates.
House District 139 covers southern Wayne County, comprising Hawley Borough and the townships of Cherry Ridge, South Canaan, Lake, Salem, Paupack and Sterling; and northern Pike County, comprising the boroughs of Matamoras and Milford and the townships of Lackawaxen, Shohola, Westfall, Milford, Palmyra, Blooming Grove, Dingman, Lehigh, Dreher and Greene.
Democrat Representative Tarah Probst, the incumbent for House District 189, is running against Republican Lisa Vanwhy for that seat. House District 189 covers the townships of Delaware, Lehman and Porter in Pike County, as well as parts of Monroe County.
Pennsylvania State Senate
Wayne and Pike have two state senators between them: Senator Lisa Baker, who represents all of Pike County, most of Wayne County, part of Luzerne County, all of Susquehanna County and all of Wyoming County; and Senator Rosemary Brown, who represents Honesdale, Prompton and Waymart Boroughs and Canaan, South Canaan, Texas, Cherry Ridge, Lake, Salem, Sterling, Dreher and Lehigh Townships in Wayne County, as well as part of Lackawanna County and all of Monroe County.
Neither Baker nor Brown is up for re-election this year. Pennsylvania State Senators hold four-year terms, and both Baker and Brown were last elected in 2022, with terms that will end in 2026.
Statewide Offices
Voters across Pennsylvania will have the chance to decide three statewide contests: Attorney General, Auditor General and State Treasurer. Visit https://www.spotlightpa.org/elections-2024/ for information about these races.
Federal Representatives
Residents of Wayne and Pike Counties are represented in Congress as part of the 8th Congressional District of Pennsylvania, which also includes all of Lackawanna County and portions of Luzerne and Monroe Counties.
The incumbent, Democrat Representative Matt Cartwright, first took office in 2013. He is being challenged by Republican Rob Bresnahan. Click here for more on these candidates.
Democrat Senator Bob Casey, who first took office in 2007, is running for re-election to the United States Senate. His opponent is Republican Dave McCormick. Visit bit.ly/TRR-Casey-McCormick for more information on these candidates.
Also on the ballot for United State Senate are the Libertarian candidate John C. Thomas, the Green Party candidate Leila Hazou and the Constitution Party candidate Marty Selker.
