LAKE ARIEL, PA — The community is invited to join the Wayne Conservation District’s watershed specialist Rachael Marques and retired Penn State Extension educator Peter Wulfhorst for a free pond walk.

On June 24 at 6 p.m. at the Varden Conservation Area Tannery Tract pond (225 Tannery Road), the walk leaders will discuss what makes a healthy pond, pond testing and the role land use plays in pond quality. They will also identify pond plants and answer questions about various pond and lake issues.

The program is free but requires registration; visit www.forms.office.com/g/3irmudp7wN to register.

For questions, email Rachael Marques at rmarques@waynecountypa.gov or call 570/253-0930.
