VALHALLA, NY — The Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) has appointed Wilfredo Yap as regional vice president of nursing. In this role, Yap will oversee nursing operations across WMCHealth’s western region, which includes Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick and Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis.
Yap’s focus will be to enhance patient care quality, advance nursing practice excellence, ensure regulatory compliance and drive quality improvement initiatives, according to a news release. Yap most recently served as deputy chief nursing officer at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health.
He holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Quinnipiac University and a master’s degree in nursing administration from New York University and multiple national nursing certifications. He is also recognized for his contributions to nursing research, with published studies in health care journals and national conference presentations.
